Blackwater Falls State Park, WV
subject Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia
Blackwater State Park, West Virginia is one of the state's must see places located in Allegheny Mountains just south of Maryland's eastern most point and just north of Canaan Valley. While waterfalls, including the park's namesake the 62 foot Blackwater Falls, make up the park's focal points of interest the most breathtaking feature is the wild Blackwater Canyon that is 800 feet deep and yet only 1600 feet wide in places. The entire canyon is boulder strewn that makes trekking into it extremely dangerous (frankly worded warning signs mark the trailheads entering it).
