Wolf Rocks Overlook

The Wolf Rocks Overlook Vista can be found along the western slope of Laurel Ridge near Laurel Summit State Park, Pennsylvania and offers an excellent view of the Linn Run valley and blue wall of mountain 10 to 15 miles to the west that is Chestnut Ridge. At 2600 feet in elevation, the Wolf Rocks outcropping stands a little over 500 feet directly above Linn Run. A bend in the slope of Laurel Ridge obscures the view of the lower elevations to the west that bottom out at around 1200 feet in elevation. Wolf Rocks is located along the western slope of Laurel Ridge near Laurel Summit State Park, Pennsylvania and is made up of multiple ledges of exposed Pocono Mountain Sandstone that rests above the Linn Run valley. The rocks contain examples of frost cracks and frost wedging at an elevation of 2600 feet in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. This outcropping sprawls for nearly a hundred feet, which makes it difficult to capture in a single photograph what it's really like to experience this place.
